howdy folks! i’m writing to you from a bus, speeding along the dark highways of america. aah, the magic of the tubes! speaking of…
it’s that time of year again! yes, it’s time to marry vaudeville with cable access. it’s time for the judy garland show to meet wayne’s world. you guessed it, it’s the next installment of my web series Cabin Fever .
hopefully by now, you’ve seen the whole series, which began with 4 episodes (Living Room, Porch, River, Front Yard) to raise money for Hundreds of Lions and continued last year with my special Super Bowl Sunday- Songs About Sports edition. this year, i’m taking it to a new level of absurdity and creating an entire anti-holiday spectacular in the tiny living room of my tiny cabin.
in case you hadn’t heard, i recently made an anti-holiday album, F*ck That!, and i’ve been touring around presenting it, backed by a full chorus of crowd-sourced Cranky Carolers. it’s quite a big show, so many emotions, so much laughter, so many tears. so of course, i thought, why not squeeze it all into my wee house?
i’m a big fan of those awkward and scripted televised holiday specials from the 50’s and 60’s. the ones where dancers perform in front of the couches, and the camera comes in through the window. the ones where the laughter is clipped, and the knock at the door is a superstar, just stopping by.
my anti-holiday spectacular will be just like those! there will be dancers with costumes. there will be a theme song. there will be a large chorus. there will be a cozy fire, and there will be special guests, some of whom we’ll announce the day before, some of whom will be a surprise. knock! knock!

originally, i had wanted to charge to watch the spectacular. it was supposed to cost $6.66, and that would get you access and an mp3 album of the audio from the show. and then i thought, why not give the spectacular as my anti-holiday gift to you? why not perform a full-on, fabulous SPEC-TAC-U-LAR for free?
really i had just wanted to charge $6.66 for something. but i can do that another time, for something else. instead, the Cabin Fever Anti-Holiday Spectacular is free.
